I don’t know what breaks my heart more. brainwashed Bucky or Steve’s doe-eyed-Bambi-watching-her-mother-get-shot-and-strapped-to-the-back-of-a-van look.

All of the above.

This whole scene was just vomit inducing. And not in the disgusting way. But in that “omg I’m so upset that I might just throw up” way.  The moment when that mask fell off, and you just knew that his face was going to be revealed. I could feel my head pounding in anticipation for that moment. And it did not disappoint at all.

This is the first time we hear The Winter Soldier speak. And his voice is so childlike and docile. Some of my friends who didn’t know who Bucky was were telling me how they thought his voice would be a little more menacing, almost mechanical. Which is interesting how someone who looks so lethal, can sound so broken. And the way Sebastian delivered those lines were just perfection. He made it sound so tragic.

And then there is Steve looking at his old friend, the deadness in those eyes and the lack of recognition hitting him like a ton of bricks. Chris Evans is just phenomenal in this scene and I specially loved how in that last scene they kind of muffled the sounds around him. Because that is how it feels like when you hear or see something that shakes you to the core. Your ears get muted and nothing around you makes a lot of sense. I bet Steve forgot where he was for a moment. You can tell that this is the last thing he expected. And he is probably reliving the moment that Bucky fell over and over in his head.
